Please check navi-DVD error

Hi,

My nav was working perfectly, then it intermittently gave an error that said "please check navi-DVD". The disk looks like it might have a scratch or two, but it seems odd that the DVD would just stop working. Is the likely problem with the nav unit itself?

I searched but could not find this error message anywhere.

Many thanks!

The problem is the DVD, not the drive. About once a year or so, the error comes up. I just make another copy from the original and the error goes away.

My current version is 2006.1.

Making a copy.

Huge thanks for the reply John. How do you go about making a copy? Is there a particular piece of software you use. Just tried with my Mac's disk utility and could not do it.

Many thanks!

I use DVD-R blank discs and they seem to work. I have a windows machine, but I think any software that can write a data disc would work. Just make sure you "finalize" the disc. Which NAV version do you have?

If you have any trouble, let me know.

For Windows, I use imgburn. It is a free software package that you can use to make a copy.

If you are close, I can help.
