Another cupholder question....
Has anyone come across an aftermarket replacement product or have any semi-professional solutions (I don't want to remove the cupholder and install some home-made apparatus that a teenager made in shop class) to enable a deeper cupholder in the roll-top style armrest?
I like the armrest style and the cupholders are certainly better that what we saw in the previous e-class. With that being said, it would be nice to be able to place a tall travel coffee mug in the console and close the door. There is another 1.5"-2" beneath the cupholder that some people may use for additional storage but I see it is as wasted space.
I'd like to be able to close the door with the coffee cup in there, yes I will agree that it sounds petty but its a feature/function that I would like. Taking the holder out completely helps me close the door while my coffee mug is in there but I would obviously be without a cupholder. I can (and will) certainly look for a shorter travel coffee mug for my daily commute but it be nice to utilize that space.
I performed a search and most of the posts that came up were from the mid-2000s discussing the armrest style switch or the earlier pop-out style cupholders durability.
