Puck n tail call quality

Ive searched and found a few posts where the person wasnt happy with the call quality after installing a puck. I have an 04 e320 and i was going to order the puck n tail B67875855 , but if the calls arent clear or if i need to buy a microphone voice control module then id like to know that ahead of time. I had the Jabra Freeway hands free and for 100 bucks i was able to hear and be heard clearly with my windows open at 40 mph. So my question is...........Is the puck n tail as good or at least close to that level of performance? And is there any way to know ahead of time if ill need the voice module? And how much do they cost? Im thinking of just ordering the Jabra i tried out and calling it a day but id really like to have the intergration if thats possible. Many thanks.

I have the same puck n tail (cradle replacer #B67875855) installed and version coded in my 04 E500. I had a local dealer perform the STAR diag (TEL=FITTED). I'm very pleased with the CQ , ease of pairing with my iP4 and the steering wheel and COMAND screen functionality including phone book downloads. I enjoy the auto-mute of the audio system when the receiving or placing a call. Many owners need the STAR diagnostic performed unless your vehicle was previously fitted with a cradle or cradle replacer and coded.

A separate voice control stalk and module is only optional (module installed in the trunk and the stalk is fitted on the right side of the steering column). It enables voice control functions. I do not have that installed. I believe the mic for the the TEL is located in the rearview mirror unit. Just my thoughts.

I don't have the puck/tail but have the Bluetooth only version. Works great, no issue with call quality. Only negative is Siri doesn't always work properly (need to be on phone onscreen and even then it doesn't always connect the first time).

Got the puck with tail. No issues except that pairing doesn't always happen. Sometimes fails, but with enough turning BT on/off on the phone and pushing the button on the puck things will eventually connect.
