General Altimax HP
Thought I will give some update on the tires on my 2004 E500. I had stock Continental (which did not last for more than 16000 miles). I had Michellin before I went with General Altimax HP. The Altimax is less than half the price of Michellin but for some reason the Altimax seem to be super quiet (like cat paws 
) and simply refuses to wear out. It came with 60000 mile warranty but there was a catch to it. Nevertheless just letting you folks know that the Altimax HP (not the UHP) might surprise you bigtime.
I have less than 80k miles and my car feels like a brand new car after I changed to Altimax HP - not anyother new tire feeling, I mean it, the car drives great and I have been enjoying it for 25k miles and still no sign of significant wear. Give it a try.
