Hello, i have a 2008 e350 4matic, i having and issue where my radio command will tell me to please start car or command will turn off in 30 seconds, and it does this while the car is started, also my cd-changer door does not open, but the cd's that are in the car will play, I also might add that when i open the car door or take the key out the radio will stay on also. I also i have my srs and esp light on that i can not turn off even with the star computer because it is saying to turn the car on, but it is started, any ideas?

 

hello, i have swapped out the command, audio gateway and cd-changer, also swapper rear sam and front sam, same issue. Anyone have any ideas??

I've come across this same issue. CD changer will not open, COMAND asks to turn on ignition, navigation stuck on one position. Where did you find the CAN BUS problem? Did it need a new rear SAM?

 

My problem ended up being a faulty ipod interface. The factory ipod controller is installed by removing the CAN BUS wires at the AGW (audio gateway). The ipod controller then is responsible for sending the wake up signal to the AGW and when it fails the AGW never gets the signal. Our dealer had the ipod adapter kit (part # 6-7-82-4238) in stock for $92 (they had been selling for $250 last year). The installation and wiring is not included in any repair information as it was an added on feature.
