Under normal usage, what is the lifetime of the Mercedes battery? Just trying to figure out when the batter in my 2007 E550 will be due for replacement...

I just replaced my 2004 E320 a month ago (April 2012) for the first time.

I got almost 8 years, 2004 E500. My sister's 2007 E350 battery just got replaced, so a little more than 4 years. So it varies, but probably lasts about 4-7 years.

I just replaced the original battery in my 2007 E550 last month at 53K miles. During the annual service at MB dealer, the battery test indicated a replacement was due. I had not noticed any issues, but had it replaced anyway since the battery had been in use for 5 1/2 years and I didn't want any problems to come up.

temp swings can stress a battery. i say4-5yrs

Thanks so much for all the useful info! I have not noticed anything yet but it seems the battery in my 2007 vehicle should be up for replacement next year or so... Just wanted to have some idea.

Mine went 7 yrs and was still working when replaced but getting a bat warning after sitting at airport.
