Car is a 2004 E270 CDI,

Can somebody give me the part number for a new rocker cover. Dealer damaged it when removing injector coils.

VIN Number of the car is WDB2110162A538524

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can help yourself and learn about your car by getting a free suscription to MB EPC. Then puting your VIN in and selecting the part you require. Good Luck.

PS I think there is a sticky for the EPC web site

I don't think its free. I tried to use it about a week ago, and you need to be a mechanic or car dealer to gain subscription. However i could be wrong or misguided.

The current number for the 647 cylinder head cover(where you put oil in) is 647 010 03 30---cost approx 21 euro: the gasket is 612 016 00 21 cost approx 21 euro. Enjoy!!

Those are MB slow moving parts and doubt that they are available in the aftermarket. However why not try to source the part via one our sponsors----like Pelican Parts---give them a try-----if not there is Autohause, they seem to be good on MB parts.

But in the final I find it hard to believe that with the freight and duty it will be cheaper tha you own backyard---dingo mate!!

I went to the service guy today and he showed me the rocker cover and it is cracked rather badly.

Anyway he showed me this part number A6120160805 however its different to the part numbers I was getting from you guys.

I used EPC with and without the VIN to search(all world) part A612 016 08 05 and I could not find that part, however you idea of a rocker cover may be different than mine. Therefore if you have seen the picture of the damaged part--go with your picture

I called up our Benz dealer here and they did not have the part number on the system but then he looked up the vin and told me that the part is 6470100330 like stated above.

Costs $699+ GST.

Hmm I think ill try to source one elsewhere

That's a great price, I, in the USA can't order the part from the mothership as the part is being shown as discontinued-----------try Singapore or Malaysia or what about a good ole junk yard or WETF you call it down under--enjoy your winter!!
