drove 2003 e500. turn in on nav snafu,. car had 6k miles . I noticed that this car had a hesitation on intial throttle application, this car ad miles on it, not like new one I drove with same problem, Is this normal for all e500? also this car had lots of rattles . Is that something you are noticing as car gets older?

 

I have 16,000 miles and no rattles of any kind. The hesitation is caused by the adaptive transmission. In short, it learns how you drive and adapts the throttle response to that. If you are slow and easy it will be "grandma" and have the hesitation. If you drive it aggressive for a short time the response will be good.
