Hello,

My E500 makes a noise while reversing at extreme angles (not always) towards the left. Nothing while doing the same thing to the right or forward left or right turns.

Any ideas as what could it be.....

Thank you.

Duke

Hard to diagnose noise on line. I have 2003 E500. Grinding? Popping? Could you record and link to site to hear? Might be wheel bearing if in a turn. Can' say for sure or get close without hearing.

It is a popping noise and it is not there all the time. Guess I will have to ready with my recorder!. It makes a popping noise, just before the wheel goes to extreme right while reversing only. Ride is smooth on the road and on bumps and forward left and right turns. It has 49k miles. The Car is not shaking at, but I know at some point soon, I will have to change motor mount and Tranny mount, since I saw some fluid leakage beneath, while changing oil last time.

Regards
