I have 2008 E550 about 82k miles and having issue with the driver side Air spring. Reading this thread is very helpful but had a few questions.
1) Driver side is sitting very low when car is parked but it comes up when the car is on and is drive able. I wanted to make sure before I replace the Air spring is that is this absolutely needs to be replaced. I checked the fuses and they are good. Since it is holding the air when the car is on, is there some other issue that I should check out before I replace this expensive part.
2) Do you need to do the alignment after the Air spring is replaced.
3) Lastly, any other suggestion. I have read here on this post or somewhere else is that it's good idea to do it in pair. But since the part is costly, I was wondering can I not wait until it becomes bad or is the suggestion is that it may go bad soon when you are on long trip or when you are least expecting.
4) Can anyone post the mileage that they got out of Arnott Air spring product(how long is it lasting). Just curious and trying to gage how many miles before this will go bad ?
Thanks everyone for you help.

Weak compressor would not lift it quickly.
Would you have SD, you could read if the leak is in the system, or in the bag.
I installed pressure gauge on the line as I like to continuous monitoring.
You can inspect the bag visually. Pull the outside cover up and see how the rubber looks like.
When the rubber looks aged, get both sides new.
I remember one owner reporting Arnott bag blowing just few months after installation, but other than that owners are satisfied.
Lifetime warranty sure sounds good.
