I am not sure what you mean. As I understood it...the first year was free (including 30 minutes). I have no idea, until I pick up my car in September, how MB will handle the year.

Peter, I can't see how we know until we get the car. I did speak with Greenway today and my car arrived at the VPC on the 14th and it's still there without a release date as yet. I'm hoping it either comes Saturday (which is highly unlikely) or the next weekend, as I'm tentatively scheduled in St. Louis most of next week.

NitroShredder, suggest you add 3rd choice in your poll - "did not get tele-aid".

Tele-aid is optional here in Canada unlike the US where the 1st year service is free.

I pick up my replacement car on Friday. I'll let you know then. Maybe DRB can answer the question

This time, Ray...it is not as big deal if they don't have your car as promised. You still have your current E to drive. I remember that they jacked you around on delivery the first time.

Much easier to wait this time. My car was built (they say) in the first week of July...but they say it won't arrive until the first week or two of September. Have no idea where it will be for two months. They gave me a vin number, so it may have actually been built.

They've also said my replacement would be available in September. Actually, all of the replacements for my dealership are arriving in September. Perhaps they don't want many 2003 navs floating around before the 2004 models become available.

Why so long?

I don't know why it's taking them so long to get you your replacement cars. My car hit the dock on July 7th, it got to my dealer last week (my salesman was on vacation) and I should be picking it up on Sat. It's weird, I mean it's the same car, but I'm just as excited as I was when I got this one. I guess it's just that "new car excitement"!

Cte430, I live on LI too. Which dealer do you use? It's strange how you're getting your replacement so soon while I have to wait until September. When did you order your replacement?

Zandorf, my dealer is Competition Imports in Smithtown. I think they ordered the car in Mid-June. I have no idea why it would take until Sept. When did they order it? Or maybe, when did they TELL you they ordered it?

Yea I'm not nearly as excisted this time. I am a little worried that I'm giving back a good car for one that may turn out to have many more problems. It's the luck of the draw though. i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ed, remember you can track your car if you have the VIN. I did and I know that it cleared Baltimore on 7/8 but I'm just geeting it today, 10 days later and i live 1.5 hours from Baltimore. Go figure!

Yeah, I have had that same concern about the new one having problems that I don't have. On the other hand, I have over 16,000 miles on this one, I think the trade-off will be in my favor.
I drove from Seattle to New Orleans, across Mississippi, LA, Alabama, Georgia and up the East Coast and back to Seattle.
Before that I drove to Las Vegas and back. I got a lot of use out of this first one. Good thing they are giving me a new one.

The best I can remember, the car was ordered in the last week in June or the first week in July. They gave me a vin number about two weeks ago but it doesn't work on the site for tracing shipments...unless I am using the wrong one. Which one did you use? It looks like it hasn't been shipped yet. I called the dealer this week and they said it was due in September. No idea what would take so long.

Has anyone except drb got the replacement yet? I have seen some posts that people have looked at "replacement trade-ins" at dealers but have only seen drb post about getting the new car.

I don't have the site book marked at home. I'll probably be in the office tomorrow and I'll post a link then.
