SBC Pump? Help needed!

I need to replace my SBC pump. Its not covered under warranty so I ordered a used one.

My original SBC part number is A 004 431 9712. When I ordered the pump, I asked for a pump with the same part number but was given an SBC pump with the part number A 005 431 7912.

I wanted to know whether this will work on my car?

No I double checked. The original part number is the one I gave above.

Anyways does the fact that its the current one mean it will work? Also if/when I get the pump installed do I have to get it reprogrammed during installation or can I just simply get it installed?

Thanks!

BTW I own a Mercedes E270CDI.

I don't know if it needs reprogramming, but....

be aware that the SBC may need to be bled and that standard methods for bleeding, as used on other cars, may not work. It is OK to do a basic brake bleed job on an SBC car (drawing some fluid out at the wheels, say, to replace most of the fluid or when changing pads) without worrying too much about the SBC, but not a complete replacement. There are too many hydraulic circuits and valves to expect the bleed to just work. The software tools at a Mercedes dealer or specialist indie will exercise the SBC valves in an appropriate sequence to get new fluid throughout.

I suggest you ensure the person who instals it has access to appropriate software, tools and procedures to do this job.

There must be a method to replace the SBC pump with a manual system. I have a hard time believing MB would design a car to be sold world wide in every country in the world and expect a Star Trek system to be in the hands of every country in the world. There must be a way to do this work without SBC. It may not be easy but I am sure someone can do this. If you change this pump and all works out be sure to publish what you did good and bad so we can learn from it. Also I highly use a pressure bleed system after installing, This will allow you to top down bleed and prime the pump. I wish you the best on your work.
