Hi everyone,
I have the '09 W211 and I have had it about 3 months now...
On occasion, when I turn the A/C on, it has a faint chemical smell. I have not experienced this in my last BMW 5 series or my Acura TL.
Anyone else experience this? Any known cause? I hate to take it to the dealer for just that, but it's giving me a headache at times.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
Thanks

03 E500 and Corvette
To clear it for me I cleaned the ac drain plugs, changed the filters and with the system open sprayed aerosl Lysol into the fan suction then closed the vents and let the car sit overnight. Granted not a MB approved method but it did work for me.

This is actually very common in these cars.
Supposedly there was a service bulletin about this, and the dealerships can do a treatment on it. (similar to previous post) Though my dealership acted like they knew nothing of it.
IIRC it's actually mold forming because condensation just builds up -- it's a design flaw.
I was able to remove the smell from mine by replacing the cabin air filter.
