Hello, my 2005 W211 sometimes makes a random single beep sound coming from the trunk for some reasons. Dealership and my mechanic have no idea what this beep is. This beep noise happens most of the time during driving, and rarely while the engine is off. There's no warning lights at all. Checked the fuse box in the trunk but there's nothing wrong with any of the fuses. I am scratching my head hard but completely have no clue with it.

Finally, I would like to say that the beep noise happens once or twice per week.
Other than that glitch, it's a great ride.

I had the same sound in my 07 but it turned out that it came from the NAV unit in the trunk which once in a while did a random beep for unknown reasons. It has since then stopped and I have not heard it in about 3 months now. If that helps you or not!

Hello, thanks for the info. I was thinking about this too but I have no clue why it makes such sound. My NAV is already using the latest 2012 software & map data.

MB told me that they had no clue why it would make the sound, however when the tech and I was standing starring at it trying to make sense of it, it beeped at us. So in my case it was for sure the NAV unit.

I was able to hear multiple times and recorded it, can you confirm if it's NAV problem? And if yes, even though NAV is functional so I should continue to ignore this issue? Thank you.

In a different thread I believe it was determined that the beep is from a valve which controls the "Dynamic Seats".

The valve was mentioned to be located just behind the driver side tail lamp, so it "may" sound like it is coming from the Nav unit.

Dig a little deeper and see what you find.....
