Help the new guy
I took it to my mechanic and he did a pre buy inspection and he told me that there is a very small oil leak on the rear main seal, in fact the oil doesnt leak to the ground, more like a seep in it, its a very very small leak, the car has
116 000 miles and its a 2003 mercedes e320 and the price is $11 000,clean carfax, 3 previous owners, the rest of the car is well maintained, is this car safe to buy? and anything else i should look for before i buy this car?
I do appreciate any help, Thanks
SBC should have recalled completed and check to see if it has ever been replaced. This is also in the $4000 range to repair.
Other than those 2 items the rest of the car is pretty solid.

If the dealer just changed the disks and/or the pads, it is not the point Vettdvr was making about the SBC
Ask the dealer specifically what state the SBC is in and have them confirm that it is currently good and with the correct software revisions and all MB-specified work and bulletins complete. Get them to show you some evidence of that.
Is it a 4matic ?
The price seems OK for a dealer-sold vehicle and mine is light blue too, so you can't go wrong. :-)
