2019 E-450 Wagon
New Plugs and Wires, vibration is back.

So I had a thread going on this a few weeks ago, can't find it, will start over with a different question.

2004 E-500 Wagon, 95,000 miles, time to change the wires and plugs.
Got German stuff, Bosch products same as MB are using..?

After installing plugs and wires, had a slight vibration at idle. The computer says Nr. 7 is misfiring. Took out the plugs and cable for nr. 7 and looked, found a trace of corrosion, cleaned off and installed, running smooth. (Lots of rain in Florida, some water may have splashed up and onto the wires..)

A few weeks later, the vibration starts again. Took it to the dealer for other work, tranny flush and a "noise" from the suspension and at the same time, look at the vibration. The computer showed no mis-fireing and the SA supected the wires had the wrong resistance, but he and the mechanic acknowledged the vibration and could only suggest the plug cables, not engine mounts or valves, coils or whatnot..

Sooo, what is the MB recommended resistance and what is the resistance on my cables: Bosch W0133-1829574...?

(Tried a couple of Google searches on the above, but no easy answer)

OEM part list, and interesting article covering intermittent engine vibrations – “may” be cylinder vacuum.

Thanks Mr. Konigstiger, good info as always.

Just now picked up the car at the dealer and the vibration was gone..
(The info from the SA I posted above was based on phone conversation before I picked up the wagon)

They did run some tests, but no action was taken. Guess I am a lucky guy, or the vibration is interemittent and will be back...

Crossing fingers in the meantime.

Got the invoice for a tranny service ($399.00) and noticed it says 5 quarts, I thought 9 quarts was required for my car...? Partial service, torque converter not incuded? Forgot to ask about it before I signed the work order and forgot to ask about servicing the transfer case, AND the Service Advisor forgot to mention it.

about the tranmission service

The torque convertor does not have drain plugs anymore, so it drains - or not - along with the pan. In other words, if the system is not actually flushed the torque convertor isn't going to drain all that much.

Take a look at your invoice. Is there an item for a transmission filter? They are not expensive. There should be such an item, or you paid $400 for them to remove a plug in the bottom of the pan and simply drain and refill.

Yeah, there is a filter involved.

Tried to negotiate the price down, but they would not budge and there is a little more to it than
to remove a plug in the bottom of the pan and simply drain and refill.
