7 Speed Plus 1 MPG?
From the detailed report on MBSPY, the new 7-speed transmission on the 04 E500 should have about 1 MPG better mileage. (.6L/100 kilometers)
Does anyone know, assuming this is true, whether an increase in MPG to
17/24 would eliminate the luxury tax?

Procedures under this subsection, to the extent practicable, shall require that fuel economy tests be conducted in conjunction with emissions tests conducted under section 206 of the Clean Air Act. The EPA Administrator shall report any measurements of fuel economy to the Secretary."

04' E500 w/Appear. PKG, Panorama Roof
Will the 04' E 500 have the 7 speed as std or optional ?
Are there any differance between the "SPort" and the "appearance" Packages ?
I have an 04' on order. Have heard of some display changes such as CD names and Sport mode indication. Any other changes?
When do the first 04's hit the US streets?

I have a 2004 E500 ordered for tourist delivery on October 8th. I was told
that the earliest US deliveries would be the first week of October and that is
why I couldn't get an earlier pickup at the factory. Actual production should
begin by the end of August.
The 7 Speed is supposed to be standard on the E500 but not yet available on
the E320.
