NO INFO. although dealer says it is on the water due in this week !
I though there was another source as well?

Although I'm sure I won't get the replacement car in time for my road trip to San Diego next week.

Mine still does not show up. Does the VIN number contain the build date in code? Seems like I remember someone posting that it did.

MB uses more than one shipping company. Most likely yours is being shipped on a different line and you will not be able to track.

Must be more than one shipping company. I double checked the VIN number I was using and it is correct.

My dealer now says that it is due in port in Los Angeles the last week in July. (don't know what happened to September) Since that is next week, it would have to be on the water by now.

We may be on the same boat. My dealer is saying July 24th in port in L.A.

They probably are on the same ship. I wonder if the Left Coast shipment are on a different carrier and that is why we can't trace them.

Remember the MB depot in LA will have them for quite a while before they go to the dealers.

I do harbor a small hope that mine will slide off in the Panama Canal and be lost. That way it would be too late to replace it with an '03 and I would get an '04

My replacement E500 was completed about July 9th, at least that is when I got my VIN from my M-B sales guy. Today he emailed me that my car is on the "Bravery Ace" scheduled to arrive in LA on August 9th. Then to the VPC.

I did a search for the "Bravery Ace" and found that it is a Mitsui OSK Lines car carrrier vessel. This shipping line must handle M-B shipments to the West Coast.

I know but since my delaer is only 60 miles away from Port Hueneme (Oxnard) it's only about a week from when the ship is offloaded. I agree by the way, the Panama Canal would be a nice option !!

Wink MB Delivery Schedule

Just found my replacement E320 with NAV on the website. It says the ship arrives at Baltimore on 8/18/03. Anyone know how long it takes to get the car thru customs and the VPC?

Trying to figure out when the car wll arrive at the dealer. The dealer said it would take 7 days from time it gets to the port of Balitimore by ship, but that seems long. I live in Harrisburg so the travel from Baltimore is only 4 hrs

for U.S. cars, its about 4-6 weeks after the car is built, im sure your dealer can tell when when it will be built, and when it will leave the factory. im sure it's been built, tell him to put the car on priority, supposedly, they are supposed to come quicker, congrats on your car man

You really think its built? Dont forget our cars coming from germany to the U.K......and so it wont take 4-6 weeks i was thinking it would be built some time first week september :S anyway, will phone dealer to find out the latest thanks

btw did anyone hear abt the hailstorm that affected 1,200 cars at the stuttgart factory??? i read it in a magazine abt some guy takin delivery of his new E but was told it wouldnt be delivered coz his car was one of the 1,200 affected by the hailstorm.....does this mean that these 1,200 cars will be built with more priority and so a delay in our delivery???
