I wanted to see if anyone could help me, sorry I am new at this. So my battery light came on, a couple of weeks ago but I found that when I open my gas cap and put it back on again that the light goes off for that trip. but the next time I start it its back on unless I do my cap again. batteries and alternator check out good..... the battery and the gas cap have absolutely zero in common.

more than likely there is no correlation between them.

are you sure it's the battery light and not the check engine light? that would make more sense.

Positive...... its a pic of a battery with the plus and minus sign on it .

Ok it does say visit workshop under the battery red light, didnt see it soooo stressed from the warning......

Probably just need a new battery.

I had my batteries checked was told they where fine and the guy as said my alternator was good to. I did some reading about a battery relay piece.....

Most cars when the battery light comes on it's the alternator that's actually at fault. If your car starts then the battery is good. Where did you have the battery and alternator tested at?

A shop by my house, that I was referred that works on Mercedes... and I dont know what to do now. batt. or relay ????? Deb
