Battery Light
I wanted to see if anyone could help me, sorry I am new at this. So my battery light came on, a couple of weeks ago but I found that when I open my gas cap and put it back on again that the light goes off for that trip. but the next time I start it its back on unless I do my cap again. batteries and alternator check out good..... Help.... Thanks Debbie

the battery and the gas cap have absolutely zero in common.
more than likely there is no correlation between them.
are you sure it's the battery light and not the check engine light? that would make more sense.

Most cars when the battery light comes on it's the alternator that's actually at fault. If your car starts then the battery is good. Where did you have the battery and alternator tested at?
