Arrow Did you know?

The '03 E Class brochure claims that both the 320 & 500 should have standard illuminated interior door handles. My car was built in Nov '02 and doesn't have this feature. How about yours?

actually they do have them. at night time when the headlights or whatever are on, there are lights on each handle...remember this is on the interior though. its on the top part behind the handle..its not very bright, but its a good idea...i think it goes well with the ambient lighting

Now your copy of the manual makes me wonder but too lazy to look it up. The quote seems to indicate that the front ambient lighting has 6 levels of intensity while the rear is variable all the way to fairly bright. I thought that the ambient lighting front AND rear were adjusted together from the instrument cluster menus. Can you adjust the rear ambient lighting higher in the back? I think that would be nice.

yes, the rear ambient lighting is controlled by the dim/bright buttons near the dome light. so it can be the same, brighter, or dimmer than the front.

Yep, I checked it out and it will get brighter than the front. I also found those door handle lights.
