Did you know?
The '03 E Class brochure claims that both the 320 & 500 should have standard illuminated interior door handles. My car was built in Nov '02 and doesn't have this feature.

the pic that you showed is basically it...here is a picture...i took this right now. thi is my garage, and 3:45, so its pretty lighted in there...so it isnt the best pic, but it shows the light

Now your copy of the manual makes me wonder but too lazy to look it up. The quote seems to indicate that the front ambient lighting has 6 levels of intensity while the rear is variable all the way to fairly bright. I thought that the ambient lighting front AND rear were adjusted together from the instrument cluster menus. Can you adjust the rear ambient lighting higher in the back? I think that would be nice.
