2007 E350 4matic P0012 code
First of all Im new here and wanted to say hello I bought a very nice 07 E350 last week and all was well then I got a check engine light and was running really bad it was Sat night so Sunday am I went to advanced and read the codes and one pointed to a bad 5th cyln coil and a P0012. I went home to look at it myself and discovered that the airbox was full of leaves and the air filters were falling apart the plug on the 5th cyln was junk so i assumed that air filters plugs and that coil was the culprit. I researched the P0012 code also and everyone points to the crank sensors, I took the car back to the dealer I bought it from (not a MB dealer) and they pretty much did what I told them about. I asked about the P0012 code and the service manager told me that he thought it may have been caused by the other 2 codes ( I told him that he should have changed the sensors anyways because I would probably be back). Sure enough a few days later I start the car in garage and the check engine light comes on! Of course I'm pissed, I take it to the dealer Tuesday and its Thursday now, they got the wrong 1 sensor so they had to wait for the part, so today they got the sensors in and the code will not clear and they are taking it to the Mercedes dealer to diagnose and fix. So is this the balance shaft issue or something else? Sorry for the long rant/post but I wanted to get the facts out there, any idea?

man, that seems like a hard thing to do.... Kinda scary they could order the wrong part.
but at least they're taking care of it for you. the OEM sensor is ~ 180 bucks, and 20 minutes to put in, that should solve your problem.

Well its off to the MB dealer on Monday, they wanted to get a qualified dealer to analyse the problem. I gave the service manager of where I bought the car the worst case scenerio and they are prepared to act on it. Stay tuned!
