W211 hood hinge replacement
I need to replace the hinges on the hood of a 2004 E500 Wagon. Has anyone done this? Can it be done as a one-person operation? The hinges are an easy plug and play, but I think I might have to suspend the hood to make the swap. Any advice would really be appreciated.
Thanks,

Ideally you should remove hood - check your PM.

Thanks, I am looking forward to instructions sheet. If I can do it one side at a time I can get my son to hold it vertical...depending on how much it weighs. Anybody know approximate weight? My only other experience with Mercedes hood is my 230sl, which weighs no more than 15 pounds... wish this one was aluminum as well!

Thanks for the advice and instructions, PelicanParts. Did this job yesterday with no drama. Got my daughter to help support the hood while I swapped out the hinges, one side at a time. Hood required no more than 10 pounds of lift.
Thanks!
