New car, new problems
I'm Candy and I live in Texas. I had a 2006 e350 until last week, and it was totaled in a 3 car wreck. Yesterday I purchased a 2008 E350. It has a few issues I hope you can help me with.
It has an iPod connector in the glove box. I guess I need a complete iPhone integration kit, correct? Also, there is a Bluetpoth connector but no "puck". Do you have suggestions about where to buy those? My connector is vertical, behind the cup holders.
The Sirius radio says "searching for signal". Does anyone have experience replacing or repairing the antenna/satellite module? The radio and navigation work.
Also tons of road noise from the Dunlop tires.
I actually love the E350. These are minor but I plan to have this car a long time. Thanks for your help!
I have some partial answers for you so you may want to wait for a 2008 owner to chime in....
iPod Connector
Why do you think you need an iPhone integration kit? For music, charging or phone?
The intention is to play music through the system when selected via the Nav/Radio unit and/or using the steering wheel controls. In my 2009 it also charges my iPhone 4S. You can always swap out the cable so you can charge if the 2008 isn't so equipped.
"Puck"
In my 2009 I do not need a puck, COMAND has bluetooth built in. I know the COMAND system was new for 2009 but I do not believe that my father-in-law has a puck for his 2007 e350, although I could be wrong. If you do in-fact need one head to parts.com.
Sirius
Do you have an active Sirius account? If not you won't receive any stations.
Noticed this was your first post... Welcome to the Forum.

Open up the manual and see if the conector you have looks like the one pictured. I have a 2007 E350, and the connector is in the back wall of the console.
These pucks are pretty available on eBay. I will warn you-not all phones work perfectly on this device. The site has a list of compatible phones, and hopefully yours is on there. My phone is not supported, and my bluetooth tends to go down with some regularity.
I assume you have the phone access ability through the controls on the steering wheel?
It should play the "Preview Channel" at all times, with a clear screen if it is receiving a signal from a working antenna.
Pressing a soft key should bring up the EIN necessary to subscribe.
Something's wrong.

I sometimes get the "searching for signal" for a few seconds, but not for long. Sounds like yours has a problem for sure.
When the Dunlops are done, I'd suggest Michelin Pilot Sports.

Ice traction is better with the Primary MXV4 but dry acceleration and braking are definitely better with the MXM4 which is what I value more. I have decided my E550 - even being 4Matic - isn't much of a winter car.
The only thing I feel even minimally qualified to comment on here is your tire noise. Continental tires make more noise than others ... that has been my experience with them on wife's '07 E350. But replacement Michelins seemed noisy also. So I had the wheels aligned. Rear wheels were out of alignment more than front, but after getting all 4 re-aligned, the tire noise went away. I offer it for whatever it may be worth. Good luck with your new car.
