Update on Deal offered to me
OK, Just got back from the dealer. Here's the scoop.
They ordered this other guys replacement car as a 500 instead of a 320 which he already has. He doesn't want a 500. I drove a silver E500. I just don't see spending 5(or really even 3) grand more for it. It felt very heavy and while a little quieter, just not worth the extra bucks for me.
OK, so then I'm talking to the owner of the dealership. I made him this offer. I said the other guy can have my replacement E320. They can sell the E500 retail. I will wait for a new re-ordered E320 in my color and with my options. For waiting, since the '03's are out of production, I get an 04. I even offered the dealer $500 bucks to give the other guy since my car is Pewter and the color he wants is silver.
OK, hope I didn't confuse you with this. I hope the dealer bites on my offer. He seemed interested. I would love to get an '04 out of this deal.
I will keep ya posted.
Thanks!

Will the dealer give you a car to drive for 2 months while waiting for the new 04? Will the dealer make you pay the price difference between the 03 and 04 price? The only significant differences between your replacement and the 04 is the availability of Sirius and cornering bixenon headlamps. If this seems worthwhile to you, then go for it, but I would keep your replacement and your cash or go for the E500. The airmatic suspension and extra hp and torque are very nice things to have.

Well I would just drive my current car. THen do the trade when the new replacement '04 comes in.
As I said I drove the 500 today and I just don't see the 5 grand difference. I would prefer the 320 and if I can get an '04 out of them, why not. It would be a straight replacement, no cost to me. so why not drive my current car 2 more months and then trade?
any more wisdom?
