"Check Oil Level at Next Refueling"

Hi all,
While coming back from a long trip (400 or so miles) I had this message pop up on the display for a few seconds then go away. Is this anything to worry about? Or is it just a trivial ordeal. I just got the oil changed a week ago.

I think this might help

Check your oil level on the next morning before you start the car (make sure it is leveled). Sometimes it happens on long trips, especially if you push a bit too much, that a lot of oil is consumed. And you have a thirsty engine, both for oil and gas.

I got a similar, but not identical, message this weekend
I have an E320. The message I received this week-end was "Add one quart of oil at next refueling" or words like that. So that's just exactly what I did. It is not pumping smoke out the back, so I suspect when the last oil change was done, in September by my MB dealer, they did not put in any more than commercial prudence and their cost-accountant requires.
I received this message once last year also. So I did what it said, then, too.
Sometimes we over-think these cars' labor-saving features. Just do what it says, and no one will get hurt.

It takes almost 8 quarts for my E500. On one oil change that I did not do myself they only put in 7 quarts and I got the message about a month later. Also make sure that only oil approved by Mercedes is used.
