Negative effects:
Rims left totally exposed to kerb rash damage
Tires distorted due to being fitted to too wide a rim requiring much higher inflation pressures to prevent excessive wear on the edges of the tread surface
Rough choppy ride due to higher inflation requirements
Likelyhood of actually having the tyre coming off the bead if impacted
Higher wear rate on suspension components
Higher wear rate on wheel bearings
Poor directional stability due to wrong offset being used
Unseen bubbling of the inner tire wall that will result in rapid loss of inflation, usually at highway speed according to Murphies Law
Cops love to pull you over for this "Look": which then gives them reason to further search you and your ride. Have a good day

Vehicle searches are at officer discretion or mood, ask. Really the last place you need to be is at the side of the road with flashing lights behind you, Aaron. sorry off topic, have a good ride.
Honestly, Crafty isn't some idiot kid who is ricing out an SRT4 or a Civic, he has spent a lot of time doing this and I'm sure a decent amount of money as well. If you don't take any shortcuts and have experience in these types of aesthetic and suspension modifications (even with Civics as he has done some great modding) you aren't really in any danger. It may seem so on paper, but it's not the first car he's slammed like this. And look, he is still here. You can debate all day about what cops will think or how insurance will come into play, but whenever you start modding your car all of that goes down the drain anyway and I doubt - in the end - it really matters. Also, look up the 1968 case Terry v. Ohio, you have to have reasonable articulable suspicion to search a vehicle. Bottom line, people that get screwed over by the police don't know their rights, and as abusive as they can be, knowing your basic rights inside and out will help in any situation. Any officer that does so without protecting fourth amendment rights is stepping outside of his powers, which I am not denying that they do, but would Crafty really be rolling around with a kilos on kilos of cocaine? Maybe that's why his car is so low?
If you're good enough to have your work featured like this, I'm pretty sure he has done an adequate job stancing his car, or making it "Hella Flush" as he likes to say. While it's not something I'd personally do with my car, there are some incredible builds out there including this one where the builder has put in a lot of effort to make it a quality project.
