Brake Replacement (Pads + Rotors)

Come time to replace both my pads and rotors, I will be sticking with the stock setup for now and not transitioning to a big brake kit as there really isn't a point in doing so right now, especially since the E550 has a nice setup already and aesthetically it will look find once I paint the calipers a gloss black. I'm new to the world of brakes and feel sort of lost. I will not be going with OEM parts but have considered a few different brands:

StopTech vs EBC vs Other for Rotors?
Slotted vs Cross-Drilled vs Both?

Ceramic vs Semi-Metallic Pads? Which Brand?

Performance is my primary consideration followed by aesthetics, minimal brake dust is also a huge plus if I can go that route. Tried searching the forums but haven't had all of my questions answered by previous posts. Thanks!

If I were you I would try to go for an E63 look.

With that being said, IIRC it is both slotted and cross-drilled.

Can't help with tips on brands and such. Though I've heard Porterfield R4S are some incredible pads -- they're ceramic.

I probably won't be upgrading to an AMG big brake kit mostly because I'm on 4-Matic and I can't find anything that will fit and look good due to the spindle setup on the car. Plus the extra expense.

Anymore thoughts anyone?

On my E350, I replaced the OEM pads with Akebono ceramics about 10,000 miles ago. I'm satisfied with their performance and there's no brake dust.

I second what he said. I am doing the job this weekend.

I have the ATE Premium One rotors and Akebono Euro pads all the way around. NO complaints.

Definitely going with the Akebono pads then, they seem to be really popular here. I'm thinking about the slotted/dimpled disc from EBC since it is stronger than cross drilled in theory yet still has that look.
