BRAKE MESSAGE RESET

Have a 2006 E320CDI. Replaced the rear brake pads, but the message on the dash still says that brakes needs replacing. Does anyone know how to get rid of this message?

Check your brake fluid level.

You give excellent technical advice Plutoe but your ways of saying things confuse me sometimes

Just got back from the dealership. The person who replaced the brake pads evidently broke the sensor. $100 later, all fixed at the dealership.

The sensor is basically just a loop of wire in a plastic housing cost $4.50. I would guess the $95.50 was labor.

IF they replaced the pads why and failed or broke the sensor , plug or failed to plug in why did you have to pay the $100 for their error?

Not sure I agree with the requirement to go to the dealer to reset for pad change. I did not have to do that. It was the sensor.
