W211 Estate Trunk/ Rear Door Issue.

Hi,

I have a W211 E220 estate/ wagon from 2008.

I have a problem with regards to the trunk/ rear door. There appears to be no life in the motor closing the door,
and no light in the button. Furthermore the rear-window Wiper does not work and the number plate lights are not working either.

After checking the fuses and the wires for breakage (as normal issue with trunk in the sedan model) and not finding anything,
I have been told that I need to replace the Trunk/ Rear Door ECU Module.

I have found several used modules for sale on Ebay and other sites, but they seem to be mainly from 2003/2005 model cars.

Now my questions is wether it is possible to use the module from an older W211 estate eventhough mine is a 2008 Model...???
Is it possible to use a module from another class/type Mercedes estate...??

I am asking as I have no clue where I can find a substitute/ compatible spareparts list.
Does Anybody have a list such as compatible parts or options...??

All help and info will be highly appreciated... Thanks

If you suscribe to the FREE MB EPC site you will have the answer to your question---I did and the following parts will work, I say part number not age!!

035 545 54 32
211 870 37 26
211 870 26 85
211 870 56 26

But double check before you buy an older part!!

Thanks a lot Jimbo1763,

I had stumbled on that link earlier and now rechecked after your reply.
The problem is I am in Europe while the advised link is for USA only... so got stuck there.

I did however find:

http://www.everythingbenz.com/z/epc-...-info-diagrams

It is probably worth something to someone somewhere....

Cheerīs all around

It is a great alternative to the USA EPC site, however does not allow for a "very narrow where used search".

It is that type of search that quickly found your older alternative part numbers.
