Strange startup issue....??????

Strange startup issue....??????
Hey their folks, I have a issue or something weird that's been acting like this since day one, for about 3 months now.

When i get in the car, no matter what time of day, I put key in ignition with foot on break, and turn key and all i get is a thump....etc, (and it's a very quite thump, and though their is some kind of ignition or connection issue) i wait for 5-10 sec, than I retry and WALLA! it starts.

now I know this may sound stupid, but I have done this same thing with my foot on the brake and off, and I get the same results.

Anyone know the cause of this? thanks

Ignition starter or fuel pump?

Do you drive this car every day or does it sit around for a few days at a time?
