Roll windows d\and sunroof down or up with key? How?

Is there any way to activate/program this feature? I have tried it and it does not seem to work.

on the front two door handles, there is a small black box, thats the sensor, hold your key pointing at the sensor, no more than 2 feet, and hold the unlock button until the windows are all the way down, then release, to bring them up, do the same thing, but by pressing the lock button, GL

Since the sensor is at an angle along the curve of the door handle, it works better when you point the key perpendicular to the sensor, and not perpendicular to the door.

When I point it perpendicular to the door, the windows/roof stop on the way up or down and I have to move the key a bit and angle it right and press the button again.

Mine is not nearly so arbitrary--it works from about 6-10 feet away, as long as I'm reasonably pointing toward the door handle from the side of the car.

I agree with bmw2mb. What is the point of this feature if you have to be within a couple of feet of the front door? I would have thought that you can use it for up the maximum length that you can unlock the car.

Same as jim256, BUT:

It worked for me from 6 -10 feet away as well. It stopped working when I programmed my key to unlock driver's side door only on first press and rest on second press.

its the same distance with KG. i think you might be thinking about lexus. my friend has a new RX330 and he can do it from 30 ft away, probably even more.

MB should have atleast made this feature so when you hold the button, and everything is open, you are next to your car. not you are next to uour car, then wait for everything.

exactly.

also, if something's between you and the car..it won't work. however, you can unlock you car from across
the street...but if you're not there in so many seconds (i think 45)..the car locks again.
so i don't understand why you can unlock from so many feet away but can only open the windows if you're
basically on top of the car. i can open the doors and open the sunroof and windows faster than finding the
perfect spot to stand and aim..then wait for the windows roll down while not moving.

maybe theres something that can be adjusted to so it works better.

IIRC, you simultaneously press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. I am sure I read this in the manual and not here so you should be able to find it if I am not correct. Now I just have to find out how to re-enable to window/sunroof option.

Also, last night I unlocked the car from the rear at about 60 feet or so. No cars on either side (naturally) and the interior light stayed on until I got there - maybe 30 seconds or so.

You can also insert the metallic key into the slot turn and hold at the unlock position until windows and sunroof opens.

well, i tested the range for the summer feature. i just tested it perpindicular to the side of the car, so facing the handle. i was really erally suprised. i first tried from 3 feet, but i found myself over 15 feet away, and it was still working, i had to stop because there was no room left in my garage.

also, i noticed that the new car has a better range from where i can unlock/lock the car. on the prenav, i could unlock it from at max 50 ft, with the new one i can unlock from 250 ft. maybe the newer cars have better range in thier keys, anyone else notice that?

you have to pay for this feature? its standard on ever MB car i believe sent to the U.S.A. i dont think it will work from 16 feet every time just because i tried to get the perfect angle and height.

uh oh......You are talking about keyless-go arent you???

if yes.......then yes we do have to pay for it. its not standard on any of the cars and as far as i know its not standard on any e class

but i thought u said that the unlocking and locking can be done from abt 250 feet and the summer feature from 16.5 feet..... so that means u r talking abt keyless-go....

im :p

your right KG is not standard on any car. but, the summer feature is standard on every car, and you dont need KG to use it. the KG key, and regular key is the same. the 350 feet thing is apart from KG, that just has to do with the lock and unlock button on the key. same thing with the summer feature, it has nothing do do with KG
