Head Unit W211 Upgrade

Where does the CAN-BUS module connect to? I am trying to find the CAN-BUS wires to connect to an aftermarket CAN-BUS interface that I purchased. I installed a double-din Pioneer unit and I lost the steering wheel functions. I had the Harman/Kardon Logic-7 system, but I am unsure where the steering wheel functions reside. The amplifier, or elsewhere? Thanks guys.

The package came with several adapters and RCA connects with zero instructions. Most of them you will never use depending an the type of audio connections you have in your vehicle. My E320 uses the MOST fiber optic system which obviously is not compatible with the new head unit. There is a harness, however, that can be used to bypass the fiber optics and into the AGW.

You mention that a harness comes to get to the AWG. Did it connect up to all the RCA cables form the head unit, then head to the trunk to the AWG and plug in at that end? Or, were you stuck with a ton of splicing?

I bought a Seicane head unit for my S500 2000. After a lot of back and forth with pictures and all, supposedly to get everything right, it arrived. My professional car stereo installers looked at the kit -- it didn't have the right connectors. Some more back and forth with Seicane and they agreed it had the wrong connectors. The kit came with NO INSTRUCTIONS so then they sent us a page of 'suggestions' which included CUTTING THE STOCK WIRE HARNESSES and 3 possible methods of hooking up the power. "Try this" then "try that" then "if that doesn't work try this other one" is scary as hell when working on a Mercedes computer system. NO WAY!!! I returned the unit at my expense and they only gave me a partial refund. SEICANE IS UNETHICAL -- DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

Chinese head unit's sound quality?
I will keep you posted on the progress and how the unit behaves, but in general so far everything other than the radio and the TV works, pretty good and the navigation and multimedia capabilities of the unit exceeds the expectations, but if you have H&K, Bose or Logic 7, you will need a much better amp, than the one the unit comes with.
I am new to MB and recently bought E200 W211. I like MB's original sound system but it has limited functions e.g. CD player and decent radio only. I like those Android based and Win CE based multifunction head units but couple of common problems users mentioned were poor radio reception.
My question from Hueholla and Elrond is, how do you compare original CD player's sound quality with Chinese units?

Been looking all over for what people do to upgrade the head unit and there's even less information on my cls then on the e class. Glad I found this thread I was about to give up on the idea of one of these products as they are literally only available from china I assumed it for sure had to be a scam. At any rate looking to get one of these preferably the android one are these things comparable in actual quality to a pioneer headunit? Hi everybody- new to this forum.
Did buy a : PUMPKIN Android 4.4 Car DVD Player GPS Stereo Radio TV For Benz E Class W211+Cam, to revamp my 2007 Mercedes e320 CDE ( equivalent to W211)
Mercedes dealer in Santiago- Chile (where I am based) does not help with modifications so there is only one installer where you are refereed to. After trying they could not make it work because of the fiber optics. In asking the supplier they say that you can by pass the problem with a special extension cord.
Woud like to ask if somebody has experience with this particularunit. many thanks......

My primary objective is to get a backup Camera . Therefore I am also open to other suggestions for a cheap interface that works with the original Command System in 2007 E-350 with Navigation and add a backup-camera to my E-Class without any new wires or optical upgrades.

I followed this thread and after installing an 8" Android in my W211 I have decided to go for a complete new RCA amp installation.
The catch is just....where is the standard amp located in the car? I want to use the standard connections to the speakers from there.
Currently have optics running from front to ???? Cannot find the amp. Definitely not in the boot.
