When is your first service due?
Unexpected bonus with my new E class.
15200 miles since new (October 2002), and still the on board computer tells me I have another 6000 until the first service. Thats 21,200 miles!
And it gets driven hard............
What are others experiencing?

First Service (B) at 14,000 miles. Next service (B) is set at about 24,000 miles. My mileage is about 2,500 to 3,000 miles a month of mostly highway mileage (70 mph+). I average about 29 mpg and get close to 600 miles per tank of gas.
So far, I have had only very minor problems and have experienced terrific service at Millenium in NJ.

Mine is not yet due for the first service. On my prvious car, it was around 12k for the first and 22k for the second. Just seems like your computer is calculating a whole lot of miles before first service. Have you had some work done whereby the FSS might have beed inadvertently reset?

E500 Sport
I agree with the above statement. My E500 has about 7200 miles on the systems states I have 5000 miles to go for Service B. So it looks like the 12000 mile mark is consistant.

Mine is due at 11,500 miles or so. However, I will not reach that until probably February '04. I think I remember reading somewhere that oil should not be left in the car for more than 1 year. Problem is, my car was built in December '02. I wonder if the dealer would be willing to change it in December

I think something is definately wrong and would get it checked. I've been told that with extremes in driving conditions, the average 10,000 mile service interval only goes about +/- 2,500. With my driving, mixed city and highway, I average around 21 mpg and should be due at about 10,500. BTW, my service indicator says a 'Service C' will be due with the 'C' referring to about 90 minutes of shop time.

Spoke with the dealership today and they confirmed everything is normal. They have seen up to 25,000 miles.
The service interval depends on style of driving, etc
I guess the biggest difference is that I run an E270 cdi (Diesel) and hence the difference.
