E500 sliding backward

hi, the '04 E500 was sliding backward when I do a quick stop at an uphill path, is it normal or something wrong with the transmission, my BMW was able to lock the transmission to prevent the can sliding backward at steep hills. thanks

Normal. AFAIK, the early W211s didnt have a "hill holder" - at least my '04 E500 didn't.

thanks, my 2000 BMW 328i got the hill holder feature, good news is that I don't have to spend money on a new transmission.........

03 E500 and Corvette
If the rpm is slow enough that the torque converter operating normally doesn't have enough pressure it will roll backward brake off. Lots of cars will do this.
