03-04 center console latch/lock

I have an 04 E55 and today i opened the center console by lifting the triangle shaped lock cover (farthest from the driver seat) and it just pulled right off. I looked up the part online, but it says only 'right side' available. Does anyone know which side is right or left and if they can clarify what color wood trim I'll be getting?

I tried to look up the number that is on a sticker underneath the piece, but i don't think it's the actual part number. It was 8488170

Thanks in advance!

I put mine back on with 3M rubber adhesive used to attach weatherstrip to cars. Never came off again. Save the $85.00

Thanks for help! I was thinking of some kind of 3M tape, but wasn't sure if that was going to stay on for long.

Saving $120 from the stealership.

Not tape the black goop in a tube marked weather strip adhesive.

Make sure if you use it to use it lightly AND when you attach it to any clips you make a one move attachment. IT sticks. and holds.

Hi

How did you go with locating this part? Did you replace or repair it?
I need the same part but for the drivers side in a US left hand drive vehicle.

Regards,

OZZYAMG

I still had the part with me, just a part of one of the bottom latch things snapped off. So I ended up just gluing it back on with very strong adhesive.

If your piece is completely snapped or something, you could go to the dealership. But at the closest dealership to me they only offered the part as a pair, so you get left and right side. If you're not going to/not able to glue it back on, I think this is the best bet just to get the proper part and a proper fix.

As far as ordering the part online, I'm not sure of how that would work so I can't give an opinion on that. Also, keep in mind the wood color too, I noticed online you can't choose the color of the wood.
