Airmatic question

I usually always leave the car in sports mode. My question is, sometimes when i unlock the car with the remote, it automatically lowers and other times it just stays at the higher height. Is that normal? Also, can i control it so it always lowers like that?

As far as I know, the car does not "raise" in any of the sports modes...it will lower at certain speeds in sports mode.

You can raise it with the button on the console...maybe that is what you are doing and it is going back to normal when you next use it.????

I have an E500. It doesn't do it all the time, that's why i was asking. Most of the time it will stay at the current height, but sometimes when i unlock the car it will lower and i actually see it dropping.

Has anyone else ever seen their car lower when it was parked or does it just do it when you are driving?

Mine will only lower if I have "raised" it with the button on the console before parking

I have an E500 that does the same thing you've described. I spoke briefly with an MB service advisor, who said it doesn't seem normal. I have an appointment this week to have it checked out, and will post the results.

my car also does this. most of the time it lowers when we exit the car and lock it. i thought it was always normal. just because i felt that when you get into the car, you add wheight, and the car has to raise itself on that side. then when you exit, it loses wheight, so it might raise it a little more, so the car has to lower itself back to standard settings

Got my car back yesterday. The dealer found a very small leak in one of the valves and replaced the "valve block" for the Airmatic system. It's too early for me to know if the problem has been corrected, but so far, so good.
