Avaliability of the e-500
Hi Kevin,
How are you enjoying the E55? (It's a rhetorical question, how could you not). We did sell the 2000 you and I spoke about and just sold the 2002 we had in stock.
Yes, W210 production is over. My Vehicle report today shows a few still "on the water" and one waiting to be shipped to us. If people are looking for specific options, colors etc. their dealer can trade with other dealers but at this point what is built is it for W210s.

Keil,
What is your dealer's inventory of the W210 body? I have a feeling the we are going to go a couple of months (June & July) with no E-class!
This is a scary thought since this is a big staple of the cars we sell. I would like a little feel of the market on the east coast and see how we match up. Thanks for any response.Mark

Hey Marcus!
I actually deal with a few of them. Sam's team and Andrew. I was actually there last saturday. And i'm going back there again probably this saturday or sunday if my schedule allows.
thanks!
JamE55,
Have you seen Andrew's C32 AMG? I love the wheels he put on the car, it makes all the difference. I have to say that dealing with either one, you are in good hands!

The ML500 actually lists for $45, 615 base price and its also built in the U.S., the BMW 540i (which would be E500 competition) lists for $51,845 base after destination.
The E500 is an import.....can't see the base price being any less than $50k.
Truly I think you should search for some MB in Euro, and you will see that they are more costly there often, and that goes for alot of car manufactuers. Now if the cost translate to that for us, I can't imagine it being higher as they want to beat BMW, not just compete.

The E class is definetely our "bread and butter' car as well.
We have over 100 E320s (including SE and 4matics), hopefully we will have enough to get us through the summer. My info is that we will not see the new cars untill Sept/Oct. I am more concerned that the "competition" is going to have their '03 models out in August and we will still be trying to sell '02s (if we have any left). We have fewer E430s and probably will run out before the E500s show up. And then there is the obligatory delay before we will see the new 4matics and 4matic wagons.
On the plus side, we have a number of new cars coming: the new CLK as well as the 4matic-C class and 4matic-S class.
What time frame are you hearing for the 4matic C & S?
We need them, especially for the C class. This is probabaly a bigger factor here in the east than in Sunny Cali., I think the Cwagon especially needs the 4matic vs. BMWs 325ix wagon.
Right now, I have no solid info. for the 4-Matic release here in the States. This is not a car that we have a huge demand for, but I think the S-class 4-Matic might go over pretty well. The car I am anxiously waiting for the the E500. I love the old '93-'95 500E/E500's, what an exceptional car to drive. It has lots of power and a suspension designed by Porsche, where could you go wrong with that combination. I just hope the '03 E500 can live up to its big brother! I guess we will just have to bide our time and see how the finished product turns out.
