Buying a e320 or e350
Hi everyone,
I am new to this thread, and I had a few questions. I am trying to get my mom to get rid of her Honda Accord and to get a w211 e320 or e350 with under 60k miles.
1. Did both e320 and e350 have timing chain issues.
2. If they did, and they were repaired, should I be worried about it?
3. What are some issues with these cars?
4. How much is maintenance each time for service.
5. What extended warranty company is good and honest? There are many not so good companies out there from what I have heard.
Thanks so much

The Mercedes will cost more to maintain. For example, a transmission service at the dealer will be 400.00. Oil capacity is 8 quarts. and you better use Mercedes filters. You should only use Mercedes recommended synthetic oil. Check the motor number of the E350 you may be interested in against the series that has the bal. shaft problem. I also have an E350 which is not one that has the bal. shaft problem.
other issues include lower ball joints, motor mounts and transmission mounts, driveshaft center support & bearing, airmatic suspension if equipped, only a fair nav. system(MY Genesis is much better), some have reported fuel tank leaks.

Agree, you don't want her to put up with the stealership, very high cost of repairs. I would have kept my E500 with only 70K, but with the impending repairs of Airmatic, SBC failure, gas odor issue, I had to trade her in. Get her an Acura.
