Electrical & keyless entry problem
I am having an electrical issue on an 03 E320 that I can not seem to figure out. This is a new key bought from the dealer about 2 months ago. The symptoms are as follows:
- keyless entry not working properly this: This issue seems to be getting worse. My remote will unlock the car every morning with out an issue. I make a stop after about 15 mins driving where i shut the car off for less then 5 mins and remote works fine locking and opening the doors. After arriving at work i usually park my car for about 3 hrs till i need to go to a meeting. This is where the problem happens, the key will not unlock my doors. I have to use the small metal key to open the door and quickly insert it into the ignition to shut off the alarm. The car starts with out a problem. This wont seem to happen again all day.
I am also having a problem where my lower console that has the emergency lights and unlock button will flash in the mornings on my way to work and sometimes have no power to the functions at all.
Other issues are that sometimes it seems the car does not read the key in the ignition when i am able to unlock the doors and i have to take it out and place it back in the ignition.
I bought this car used back in January and did not have this key issue. Same thing happens with the old key also now. The main battery is a new battery but the aux battery might be original as its a MB battery. I had it tested yesterday afternoon on my way home from work at autozone and it read 12.45 with the car off. Can this all be the aux battery?
