Brake wear sensor HELP
Good day! Ive been looking around for brake rotors, pads and sensors for my car. I drive an MY03 W211 E320 Avant without sport package with VIN WDB2110652A139934.
Its hard enough to find the correct size for my car let alone the pads. In told they come in different shapes.
Anyway, my real problem are the brake wear sensors. One person said i have 4, another said i have 3 with 1 front and 2 rear, and another said i have 3 with 2 front and 1 rear. If anybody can shed a light with this and if i can get the correct part numbers for it i would really appreciate it. Its a bit confusing since they all came out on the same year but they have different parts eapecially when they came out feom different countries.

Just purchase enough of both types of the male plug and return what you don't need or check each wheel first to see what is on you car.

OK, per your VIN, you have 1 sensor on each front wheel, left and right.
211-540-0717 L and 211-540-1717 R
Rear is one only on the right rear, 211-540-1717.
Hope this helps.
Your engine number 112949 31 393552
Transmission is 722618 03 971919

The sensors have a different depth into the pad. IF you have the 3 sensor set up the two front are different with the depth.
The sensor is just a loop of wire encased in plastic. When the rotor cuts the wire you get a light. If you wanted to drive as a conventional no warning sysem with a worn sensor and no replacement it might be possible to just solder the two sensor wires together and the computer should not be able to tell the difference.
But of course we know no one would ever connect and solder the wires to avoid using a sensor that only turns on the + or visit workshop in the FSS.
