You need H-11 bulbs for the W211.

I just replaced the stock fog light bulbs with H11s from Hoen USA. I'm very happy with them.

bmms8,
The main reason I replaced the stock bulbs in both the fog and parking lights was to more closely match the color of the headlights, rather than to achieve any increase in brightness. That said, the Hoens seem to be somewhat brighter than the stock fog light bulbs (Osram), although I haven't compared them in actual fog conditions - we don't get much fog in Chicago. The only use my fog lights get is from the delayed entry/exit lighting, or maybe in very heavy rain at night.

I wouldn't describe the output as blue - buy they are much closer to the color of the bi-xenons. I haven't compared the brightness of the Hoen bulbs to that of the stock bi-xenon headlights.

What bulb did you use to replace the parking lights? Where did you order them and what was the cost.

I understand that most people agree that PIAA 19169 is the best match.

Ed,
I used the PIAA 19169. I paid $14.49 plus tax from a local autoparts store. I imagine the bulbs are pretty easy to find. If you have any trouble, let me know.

thug law,

I may be wrong, but I believe that "H11" is a type of bulb rather than a model number. I have seen H11s from various sources, including PiAA and www.lightingresearch.com

If i recall, PIAA doesn't make H11, i think alot of the forum members used something called metal white?

How well do the Hoen's match with the Bi-xenons? Can you make ne comparisons with the metal white pics that were posted a while back?

Do you know what auto supply stores carry the PIAA bulb?
Do you happen to remember what it was called?

I have heard "platinum white" as the most preferred one....don't know if there are different names or not.

I think you are right about the H-11's. They seem to be made be different mfg's and have different names eg: "metal white", "superwhite", etc.

Thanks for the help.

-=Zero=-,
You may be right about PIAA; I'm using the parking light bulbs from metal white (www.lightingresearch.com).

The Hoen's match the bi-xenon very well, as do the metal whites, in my opinion.

Ed,
I bought the PIAA Platinum 19169 bulbs from a place nearby called Car Boutique in Wheeling, IL. I can't tell if they're set up for Internet ordering of all items or not.

Thanks....I got your pm. I will check locally. They are available on line but it would be much easier to just pick them up locally.

Did you change your high beams? I understand that the
H-7 xtremewhite is the replacement. I think it is available on line for about $79.95....unless someone has come up with a better alternative and/or price.

I held off doing this on my pre-nav car as I was waiting for my replacement.

I haven't changed the high beams. Around here, I use those even less than the fog lights...

LIONHEAD,
Sorry, I don't know anything about MB tuners in the area. I bought my car from Knauz and have had reasonably good service from them, but have never heard anything about their Renntech or Kleeman abilities.
