e63 amg ride height vs standard w211 ride height

I did a search and could not figure this out. I am sure it is a simple answer. I parked my 2008 E550 next to a stock looking E63 amg yesterday and it seemd like the E63 sits lower. Is it maybe the body kit is lower to the ground or is the airmatic set at a lower height? Can someone tell me what that height is so i can use STAR to match it? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Take a tape measure from the ground to the fender. Easiest way.

You can have a look here to see how I did the lowering with DAS. Unfortunately after driving the car, parking, and shutting off the engine the car would raise back up. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Manual height adjustment you used is just for service, not a permanent adjustment. It will not work.

I hope they figured out their issue in the 5 years since they posted the thread and you decided to reply to it.

Just get some lowering links. They do the exact same thing as STAR, just mechanically instead of with software. You're tricking the car into thinking it's riding higher than it is so it's actually lower doing it either way. You also don't have to worry about stuff resetting itself when running links.

edit: AMG cars do sit lower than the non-AMG ones.
