W211 Facelift E350 E500 E550 Remus exhaust compatibility info. MUST READ B4 YOU BUY!!
Figured I would give this it's own threat so someone in the future could search for it and find it easier.
Well, I installed the Remus dual oval tip exhaust on my 2009 E350 AMG Sport sedan, but it was bitter sweet!
So apparently these Remus W211 exhausts are designed only for W211's with no tip cutouts in the bumper. The tips are placed to sit just under the bumper on non facelift W211's. On facelift W211's like my 2009 E350 with the muffler tip cutouts, you can not adjust the hangers low enough to make the mufflers sit high enough so the tips look good in the stock bumper cutouts.
I managed to tweak the hangers to adjust the muffler higher, but I ran into another problem. The top of the mufflers hit the heat shield on top before the tips are high enough to look good.
So the only solution is this. Adjust the mufflers so there is about 1.5" of room on top, cut the oval remus tips completely off, and have the muffler shop fit/weld either new tips, or my stock AMG tips on the remus cans. Im probably going to go with the latter option.
That was the bitter part, now here is the really sweet part.
The mufflers sound absolutely amazing. NO DRONE sound at all at any rpm in the cabin. Heck, with the radio on normal volume, its hard to tell the car has an aftermarket exhaust from inside the car. But its a different story outside, pure orgasmic sound! This is what I love about Remus exhausts on a Mercedes, the sound!
Here is a short clip from different angles. The sound in the video doesn't do the real world sound any justice, but you will get the idea.
And here is a very ****ty enhanced night time pic of how they look on the car in case the video was too dark.

Got the tips replaced today. Came out pretty good. Sound didn't change any as you might imagine. Couldn't use the original tips due to the way the original pipes were bent down. So I picked out some aftermarket tips that somewhat match the stock tips. After welding, I sprayed the welds flat black. Doesn't look half bad IMHO.

My bumper has the cutouts from the factory. That's why I had to have the Remus tips cut off and different tips welded on to change the position the tips were siting in and fill the cutouts better. With the stock tips, there was a 2.5" gap from the cutouts to the tip.
