Curious about changing water pump

My e500 has 146,000 miles and I was wondering if I should change the water pump I don't wAnt any problems in the future and should I change my timing by also when I get this replaced.

If its the original or you are not sure it has ever been done, I would change it pronto. Preventative maintenance is the way to roll!!

150,000 is recommended coolant. Change water pump, all rubber hoses, thermostat and be sure to use OEM coolant and New water pump.

have you ever done a water pump on a 211 yourself? i'm curious how hard it is to do

Isn't the oem water pump a Bosch unit with a mercedes sticker on it and double the price?

I was getting ready had done the planning then sold the car. So NO I have not but it doesn't look any more difficult than the one on my 7.3 Ltr Diesel or my corvette wegged under the low hood or any of the ones I have done over the last 50 or so years.

rockauto has the bosch for $100, this is a fairly cheap DIY. i plan on doing the radiator flush and the pump at the same time. maybe next weekend will be the time to do it
