Airmatic leak in rear pinhole

Airmatic leak in rear pinhole
I had my 2004 E500 wagon in for a service light regarding airmatic. Dealer says its a pinhole leak in rear and cost to repair/replace is $2700. What's the risk in not having this done? What are alternatives: I see some references in other threads regarding replacing bags with other devices? Take to a repair shop other than dealer?

First of all, you need to give us some more details as to what it is exactly the dealer wants to replace for $2700. Get more details on the repair. Then post it here and then we can recommend something. Otherwise, how in the hell are we supposed to know what the risk is if you don't repair it.

The risk is burning out the compressor from having to run longer and keep the bag inflated. The other risk is it will fail and you will need a tow. Use arnott rear suspension parts and do this repair only once.
