2009 E350 Windshield Replacement (Panoramic)
I'm in the Los Angeles area... While driving on the freeway a small rock chipped my front windshield. Not thinking much of it, it's literally cracked to 12" long..
I've called several window repair shops and I was pretty surprised how expensive it is. I guess having Panoramic top has something to do with it? Perhaps the windshield is bigger or because of how it sits with the Pano roof?
Has anyone here had any experience with replacing theirs? And if possible suggest some shop that can do it for a reasonable cost. The cheapest quote I've gotten is $300
Thanks!

US$300 for the whole windscreen?!! thats pretty darn cheap! thats how much it would cost here in Aus to repair a 2mm crack/chip! i had my windscreen replaced on my old w202 and it didnt cost me a cent coz of insurance but it costs around AU$900 and thats without the rain sensor windscreen, not to mention it was around 4 yrs ago. consider yourself lucky mate!

Windshield being bigger because of the panoramic roof? I'm almost positive they're the same but either way I agree with beejay, $300 isn't that bad.

Be careful. I had mine replaced at the dealer and they ended up having to replace it again (I think it got new glass again) because it wasn't sealed correctly around the rain sensor, and the wipers were acting crazy.
