W211 2007 E550 4matic
Question 2007 With RUST

Hi, I have a 2007 E550 and I had noticed blistering on 3 of my door seams after todays clean up. I regularly rinse my car during the winter months and I wash and wax my car twice a month during the summer season. I have enjoyed my car but I am considering letting it go after a few years of extensive repair. Anyone experiencing rust issues with the W211? I am well aware of the previous model issues with rust as I had a E55. Please enlighten me.

I have a rust free '05 that has lived it's entire life in NJ. While shopping for mine I also looked at a couple of other W211 and found no rust.

that rust maybe covered under a paint warranty, I would call and and ask several dealers and explain the condition and see what they say.

*Sarcastic Voice* Man, if only Mercedes had a 30-year Anti-Corrosion warranty, like the Mercedes 30-year anti-corrosion warranty, or something of the sort that would be amazing. The deadline is, realistically, around 8 years but as I understand it 2014 - 2007 = 7. So I'm not sure why this is an issue or a complaint.

Was it a flood car?

Vettdvr, I live in Canada and the Government will not allow the re-license of flooded cars. AMG, my complaint is the 4 year 80,000Km corrosion warranty that we have here. I'm concerned with investing more money into a car that will end up rusting away like the W210 that i had. My car has been problematic over the last few years and I want to consider all options when deciding if I should part with it. I love the feel and drive of the car but I'm concerned with rust eating it away. Is this the beginning of what has happened to my E55. The pillars rusted out from the inside.

Welcome to the forums by the way, and now that I know you're in Canada that definitely changes things a little bit in regards to the warranty. If I were you, I would try to part with the car before it gets worse - rust is like car cancer and extremely hard to stop and repair properly. Honestly, since I'm looking at an AMG, I'd sell you my 2007 E550 4-Matic which has absolutely zero rust on it if you can get rid of yours and are willing to cover the difference.

AMG, Thank you for the offer. I would consider your car but I'm going to hold off and look for a reasonably priced E63 myself. I appreciate your feed back. First post... yes I was Sarcastic/disappointed about rust.
