Phone Kit for E280 Sat Nav Radia unite

Hi All

this is my very 1st ever post on a forum, so go easy on me

I have a 2008 e280cdi with the factory sat nav head unit. It has a phone function, but I've been advised that I need to buy a phone connector model to make this work.

Having rang MB this is some $670 with blue tooth functionality, but no music streaming from iphone etc. Seems very expensive.

Would anyone know what the part number is of this connect? I want to see if I can find a second hand one, or cheaper one off the net somewhere.

Or is there another good but reasonably priced alternative to this problem?? I mean what 2008/2009 model car nowadays doesn't have blue tooth phone connectivity? I'm sure a base model falcon of the same age does!

Cheers

I don't know pricing, but, for my 04 E-500, with the factory AM/FM/CD/CD Changer/NAV/Phone, I was given part #'s: B67876131 for the blue tooth module, and BQ6820882 for the phone. I don't remember now if the second part # was the actual phone or not. It has been a while, and don't remember what my abbreviations stood for. I did discover in my glove box, up on the top, there is an AUX input jack, so I plugged an AUX cable into my phone, then into this jack, and can now stream my music through my factory stereo AUX setting, and do my calls also. You might check and see if you have this AUX input also, I realize it means a cable dangling somewhere, but, it does the same functions you are looking for, minus the big $$$ being spent. Other options, is look up Dynavin, on the web, they offer some plug and play head units with built in Bluetooth, but, doesn't work on all MB's, seems there is some confusion on units with the fiber optics.

Thanks.
I actually found an after market plug and play unit that plugs into the centre console under the arm rest. $355 delivered and is compatible and runs through the steering wheel, instrument cluster and head unit. Blue tooth and music streaming.

Haven't received it yet, so not sure of how good it is.

Brand is viseeO. Found it on gumtree. Located in deewhy.

Will post a message once I receive it and test it out.

Btw. I did check dynan out. Their unit is not plug and play replacement. I needed to buy extra wiring etc and total price was 3 times more than what I just bought.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks

Yes, I forgot to mention Dynan is rather pricey. Let me know how your unit works out please. I have an android based phone, and an 04 MB, not I phone, so have a little more problems finding integration for it. 2005 seems to be the year things were upgraded that might make my phone more compatible.

So the ViseeO part arrived last night.

So far I'm very happy. Plug and play, no need for a radio installer to pull the dash apart and hard wire in the car kit.

It IS fully integrated into the dash, steering wheel and instrument cluster.

Sound quality on the phone at least on the 2 tests so far have been excellent.

Music streaming is untested. Music streaming is old technology where by it works through radio frequency, and not blue tooth. So I'll need to test this out and report back in a few days.

All said and done, this kit will only work if you have a connection in your centre console arm rest.

Cheers
