2004 E-500 overhead console
Recently my reading lamps, sunroof controls, and everything quit working. Then they started working again, now nothing. All the fuses are good. Already checked them.
Right now, there are no reading lamps, no sunroof functions, no rear light functions, no door lights, and the stereo and heater controls do not automatically dim. Along with this, drivers door window will express down, but, not up. Also the rear reading lamps do work, but no ambient lighting. All the settings are correct in my cluster, and the buttons are in the right position. Ever since I have owned the car, the passenger front overhead light has not worked, even though the bulb is good. And no ambient/mood lighting on the front lights.
This got me to thinking, so, I removed the overhead console, took it apart, and found a bunch of corrosion on the printed circuit board. While I had it down, I did verify there is power going to the circuit board through the wiring. Cleaned off the circuit board as best as I could, then re-installed everything.
Still have the same issues.
I am hoping someone smarter than me can give me some idea if this is still the driver S.A.M., or a bad circuit board? Does the power come into it, and then route somewhere to the door light circuits?
Thanks
