Could the metal shavings from p0016 and p0017 cause any damage to any other parts of the engine. Because my Cams and cam bearings are messed up with scarring and i'm trying to figure out if a shop has anything to do with it or not.

Metal shavings do nothing any good.

I know but have you ever heard of Cams getting scarred from the metal shavings?

IF shavings get through the small holes on the oil pump screen they MIGHT make it to the oil filter that should do it's job of removing them. So my guess is no once they make it to the oil pan. Splashing around might do some scaring but gravity will eventually cause them to make it to the oil pan.

If the shavings started in the cam housing, it would be easy to scar the lobs, but still hard to scar the bearings and journals.

That would indicate bad oil, bad oil filter or no/low oil.
